Before beginning this process, it’s important to understand the required steps and potential challenges that may arise.

The Paint System

Step 1 – Preperation

Proper preparation is essential when spraying kitchen worktops. The success of any painting project relies heavily on the preparation work. Clean the surface using Hawk Surface Wash solvent cleaner. This will remove build-up and residual oils from the substrate, providing a fresh surface to begin the resurfacing process.

Sand using 180-220 grit Sandpaper will scuff the surface and promote adhesion.
QuickPrep+, Universal Bonding Agent provides optimum adhesion, significantly extending the lifespan of the coating.

Step 2 – Applying the Paint or Coating

StoneFlecks is a 3 part system, Primer, Kitchen Worktop Paint and Topcoat. For best results apply using an HVLP spray machine in multiple thin even coats.

The proprietary StoneFlecks™ Ultra formula lays virtually flat, so eliminating the need to sand texture before top coating, and cures fast, allowing clear topcoat to be applied in as little as 30 minutes.

How to enhance StoneFlecks

To enhance the fleck particle size and a achieve a softer stone effect, add Dynamic Fleck Enhancer. For an added touch of glamour, apply Dream Flecks Metallics on top of any StoneFlecks Ultra Multi-Color Finish

DIY or Professional

Achieving a flawless spray painting project involves significant attention to detail and a high degree of expertise. Proper technique, such as precise sanding, priming, and application of thin and even layers of paint or coating, is essential for achieving a smooth and polished finish. We would consider this to be more of a Professional than DIY application.
